Fire Safety House |

|
The
"Children's Fire Safety House" is a portable classroom
owned by the Jefferson County Fire Trustees Association, and operated
and maintained by members from the Fire Prevention Inspectors Association
of Jefferson County. The Bureau utilizes the "Fire Safety House"
at various times throughout the year to teach children about fire
safety in the home and how to escape from their home in the event
that they are trapped when a fire starts. Emphasis on proper Smoke
Detector maintenance is discussed as well as monthly testing and
semi-annual battery replacement. Children have an uncanny way of
teaching their parents the very lessons they learn during our brief
contact with them.
