The 56th Annual
WHAS Crusade for Children was held on
Saturday & Sunday June 6 & 7
Fern Creek Fire Department reached new heights this year by collecting
$231,580.
This was a 90% increase from 2008 and over $100,000 higher than our previous best.
Because we raised more than $157,000 this year, Fern Creek Fire Department has now collected more than
2 million dollars
over the last 50 years for the Crusade for Children.
Thanks to ALL those who selflessly volunteered their time and efforts during the week at the roadblocks and over the weekend going door-to-door. Your help was greatly appreciated.
Thanks to ALL those in the community who donated money, time, food, etc. to help make this the best Crusade ever for FCFD.
And Thanks to ALL who have contributed during the last 50 years. We couldn't have done it without you.

Comedy Caravan for working with FCFD on a fundraising project

Dr. Kim Westerman who donated $25 from every whitening procedure to the Crusade. Dr. Westerman's office donated $500 in 2009. |
*And a special thanks to young Kaylee Hardin who was bit by a dog while going door-to-door. Kaylee was able to return to finish collecting and make the trip to WHAS-TV for the final tally. Great job!*
Since 1959, Fern Creek Fire Department has collected donations for the Crusade for Children. Every year members of FCFD have used that first weekend in June as their chance to volunteer and help those children in need. |
